Chemical Peel

Chemical peeling is a technique used to improve the appearance of the skin using a chemical solution that causes old skin to peel off and allows new skin to regenerate. Conditions that may be improved with chemical peels include mild scarring, fine lines and wrinkles, sun damage, blotchiness, and many pigmentation problems.

At Smith Dermatology, both superficial and medium depth chemical peels are performed. Jessner, TCA (Trichloroacetic Acid) and other chemicals are employed in the majority of peels.
